Unexpected material assignments can make a mesh harder to prepare for import. Inspect an FBX to see its unique materials, assigned slots and mesh relationships before returning to your modeling workflow.

Your mesh stays here.
The file is read locally in your browser. Its contents are not uploaded, and external references are not opened.
What does this check?
FBX object and connection metadata only. Assigned slots are not polygon usage or texture counts. Geometry, UVs, skin weights, embedded media and import success are not validated.
The 5 MB file-size and 4-material/slot thresholds are advisory project targets, not official submission limits.
The 32 MiB file cap and inspection time limit apply to this browser tool. Larger files can stay in your desktop workflow.

Understand assigned materials and mesh slots before reviewing your asset in Studio.

No scene rendering. No automatic fixes. No upload.
READ THE COUNTS
One material. More than one slot.
A material assigned to two mesh models appears once in the unique material count and twice in the total slot count. Unassigned material definitions are counted separately.
These are object-level assignments. The inspector does not check which polygons use each slot or how many texture maps each material references.
A USEFUL CHECK, WITH A CLEAR SCOPE
Advisories, not approval.
The 5 MB file and 4-material/slot targets are project guidance. They are not official IMVU submission limits. Review geometry, UVs, skin weights, and the final product in your creation tools.
