SECOND LIFE / YOUR CREATIVE SPACE

From first script to first interaction.

Short, practical starting points you can use in your next project.

01 / FIRST INTERACTION

Try a touch-to-color script.

  1. Open the LSL helper and choose “Touch → color”.
  2. Copy the example into a new script inside a modifiable prim.
  3. Save and check the compiler output.
  4. Touch the prim to test the behavior, then adjust the color logic.

02 / BETTER SCRIPT PROMPTS

Describe an interaction clearly.

“Make a door” leaves many decisions open. A useful prompt includes:

  • Trigger: touch, collision, timer or chat.
  • Access: owner-only or anyone.
  • Behavior: what should change, and when it resets.
  • Object setup: a single prim or a linked object.

Example: “When the owner touches this single prim, toggle cyan floating text above it.”
